Scatterbrain

I have attention problem.

Does being kulang-sa-pansin qualify for having an attention problem?

But I’m not being KSP now.

When I watch a series marathon, which I often do on weekends, my hands have to do something else. Otherwise, I’ll get bored and may fall asleep even if I’m watching the latest Game of Thrones season. That’s Game of Thrones! Yet, I’d still fall asleep.

I become so passionate with something I’m very interested in doing. Sometimes, the day will just pass by with me browsing about the topic in the net. Yeap, I can spend (and waste) a day in front of the computer browsing about the same thing the entire day!

Then suddenly, something I think is more interesting will catch my attention and I’d lose interest in the former.

I have this project I wanted to start with, weeks ago. I already collected the materials, some of them are not cheap! Now, I just feel like doing something else.

Sometimes, I become so fascinated with a project... then the next day, I’ll find countless reasons why I cannot do it.

Those kinds of attention problem.

I missed the days I’m so into DIYs! Now my thoughts are just scattered! And I’m lazy to do anything.

Maybe that’s the problem. I’m just lazy! :(

There! I have to regroup my thoughts! My lazy ass also needs serious whacking.

Now a challenge -- A DIY project at least every month!

Better find out where to begin with. Ciao!

Watching A Movie

CONSIDER THIS A WARNING.

Amidst the chaos of a super duper mega payday-Friday, Hubs and I went to G4 last Friday. Shempre, traffic on the way there. Nakakalokang traffic! Wala akong choice but to watch the other traffic-stuck cars sa paligid.

We reached our destination after an hour and a half. Parang saglit lang naman yun pero without the freaking traffic, it will take you only minutes to get there. So kaka!

Anyways, at least we got there more than an hour before the last full show ng World War Z. Opkors, hindi palalagpasin ni hubbydudes yan -- Zombie movie eh.

Don’t ask me when was the last time we watched a movie in a theater, kasi nakalimutan ko na sa tagal.

When we were on the line to buy tickets, nagsikip ang dibdib ko, the screen showed that there were no vacant seats anymore. Nakakapikon lang. Gusto ko na mag-walkout. Buti na lang, the Hubby was unusually patient that time. He said magtanong na daw kami since andun na rin kami sa pila. Para bang papayag sha maupo sa bench sa gilid ng theater or sa floor if these will be the last resort.

Glad that I listened! Because of the people still lining up for the movie, they opened another schedule for it that will start at 10:40PM! Yebah!

But wait ---

It was only 8:20PM. We were supposed to see the 9:40PM show.

Yet, I didn’t complain. I went there to watch a movie so I will not leave without watching a movie! Kahit abutin pa kami ng madaling araw!

By the way, earlier that day I called Ate Judith to tell her to tuck Amber to sleep that night because we will be getting home late ni Hubby.

Toinkz! Hanep sa comment ano? Pumi-feeling close! Minsan itong si Ate Judith, may pagka-! Parang wala naman akong sinabi where we’re going. Nag-assume agad?! Well wala namang kaso yun except that she’s being atribida most of the times sometimes. But we love her because she loves Amber. So keri lang.

We did all the things we thought of doing inside the mall just to kill time.

So when the movie begun... inaantok na ko!

But then, the zombies woke me up! Aggressive! Ang liliksi! Para sa mga deads, they’re so full of energy!

So saan ba patutungo itong kwento ko? Wala naman talaga. Gusto ko lang maalala na nakapanood ulit ako ng sine after a very long time of satisfyingly watching lang ng mga pinirata kong movies in the comfort of our own home.

It’s nice to be watching in movie theatres once in a while. But I realized that I like it more to watch movies privately in our own living room. Bakit?

Pangalawa, if you miss any scenes or a dialogue in the movie, just press rewind on your RC and voila!

Pang-apat, with the exception of some theatres that has lazy boys na pagkamamahal ng ticket, you can be in whatever position you find comfortable in pag nasa bahay ka lang.

There are still more reasons I can think of but I’ll leave it at that for now.

Ang bottom line lang, parang matatagalan ulit bago ako manonood ng sine because although the movie was great, the experience wasn’t.

That’s all. Bow.

False Alarm!

Ola! ^_^

I’m in a happy mood. Yes!

Meron akong wow! moment a few weeks ago that I’m too shy to tell here so I did not. Kay Em lang. Thru FB. Haha!

But since I was able to tell the Hubby, Nanay and everybody here in the office about it na and got just about different level of excitements that are so so amusing, I finally decided to post it here... for my recollection first and foremost.

So what’s the story?

A few weeks ago, I’ve been having this weird feeling. The kind I felt when I already had Amber and I didn’t know it yet. Ganung-ganun. I was really suspecting that I’m pregnant.

At the same time, I always have these annoying headaches all the freaking time. Parang throughout the day masakit ang ulo ko. Pero no! I am not taking any paracetamols. Kasi I know that when you are pregnant, you are not supposed to take any medicines without proper prescription, saka praning lang talaga ako. Mabuti na yung nag-iingat di ba?

It’s been going on for days but I dared not tell the Hubby yet kasi nga it’s too soon to tell. I need siguro mga 4 days pa to really say that I missed my period.

Then one unfaithful morning in the office, there came that freaking headache again! Parang binibiyak ang ulo ko. When I opened my bag, I saw an Advil. Without thinking, nilunok ko sha, only to realize why I’ve been trying to keep up with the headaches lately.

Bullfrogs! I was so scared. Tapos nabasa ko pa that taking Ibuprofen at the early stage of pregnancy may cause abnormalities sa baby. Alam mo yun, when you’re in panic, you become a bit naive and just believe things you read without making further research.

That night, I got my period. False alarm pala. Sus! Toink!

When I finally had the courage to tell my lovedones and friends about it, iba-ibang reactions ang nakuha ko!

Hubby (stopping me midway): Teka, tara, bili tayo nung pregnancy kit!
Me: Atat naman to.

Officemates (with those big smiles plastered on their faces): Magkaka-baby ka na ulit!!!
*They’re happy because if I was really pregnant, that means, I’ll be on maternity leave on October to November. I’ll be back by April, in time for the filing of income tax return. Hmp! :)

I had mixed emotions. Sad and relieved.

Sad because I was already envisioning myself pregnant and having another baby. Saka ang laking convenience nun sa MRT (yup, I’m taking the Metro Transit, commuting everyday now. Sigh, hang hirap!)! Pag nakita kang buntis, pwede ka mag-“Turn Around” train, di ba?

Relieved because, I feel that with the recent developments in our life, baka nga it’s not a right time to have a baby yet. :(

Oh well, I’m leaving it all up to Him. I believe that His plans are great.

That’s all... bow! :D

My Resolution {On Weight}

From now on, I will never ever let myself go into a diet that I would eventually fail to do. Hindi na ako magda-diet, period!

I am embracing the chubby me. I will no longer be conscious of my love handles, bulging tummy and exploding cheeks.

Instead of focusing into losing weight, I’ll put my efforts into accepting the new me.

I will not drool over size S and M clothes. They’re for the skinny people.

I will never be affected by remarks on my weight and figure. I’ll put up a smile and just say, “I know, and it fits me just right!”.

Good luck! ^_^

Hope reverse psychology really works! Hahahaha!

If it still fails, I’ll pray for acceptance and shopping money so I could buy more clothes in my size.

Serious Thoughts

I really don't know what was I thinking last night. Have I just agreed to the Hubby for a second child next year? To which he replied, “next year pa?!?”. Hellow, nagmamadali?! Ano na bang petsa ngayon? A couple of months na lang, ‘next year’ na!

Yeah, I might be out of my mind. We don't even have our own place yet and I already agreed to another child?

But the idea seemed appealing. It’s nice to have another baby in the house. A new baby who Amber can play with.

Sana baby boy na no?

A friend kept telling me that having a second child isn’t as difficult as when you had your first born. Basically, you will now act based on experience, which is easier than basing everything on instinct and theories.

Besides, I’m not getting younger anymore. I want to still be strong enough to be there with my kid(s) as they grow.

So... pano na? Geez, why am I having second thoughts and this overpowering fear? ;-/

Just thinking out loud.

A Visit To Amber's Pedia

We went to Amber’s pedia at St. Luke’s last Saturday. I swear, hindi na ko babalik dun on consultations. Ginutom ako! To think I was rushing the Hubby to leave the house as early as 8AM kasi I wanted to be there as soon as the doctor’s clinic opens at 10AM. Ang haba kasi lagi ng pila. We will be going to Nanay afterwards so I wanted to finish at the doctor’s clinic early.

Kaso, being the persons that we are, we left the house at 9:30AM na! Ambabagal kasi kumilos, so kaka!

Buti na lang the traffic wasn't heavy and we got to the hospital at a little after 10:30AM. The parking building was full again, as usual. While the Hubby waited for a parking space, I went to the clinic to have Amber’s name listed. Wala pa daw si Doc at pang-9 kami sa pila. Okay lang, at least I still have time to get a form from our healthcard in the 15th floor of the other building. Siguro naman by the time I’m done sa healthcard, nakapagpark na si Hubby, dumating na si Doc at kami na ang kasunod. A would be perfect timing!

I had a hard time taking the elevator from the 3rd floor so after several minutes of waiting, I decided to ride to the ground floor at sumabay na lang paakyat. When the elevator door opened at the 5th floor, ayaw na magpasakay ni Kuya Operator kasi puno na daw kahit may space pa sa likod. Biglang may sumigaw ng “MOMMY!!!” from outside, when I turned to look, it was Amber. Kuya let Amber in but not the Hubby. Nagsa-stuck up daw yung elevator pag nasobrahan eh. Tsk-tsk, mabigat ka daw, Daddy. LOL! Calling St. Luke’s, your elevator seemed to need a major overhaul.

We got out from the elevator just the exact time that the Hubby reached 15th floor. Hingal na hingal ang lolo. Haha! He just went up 10 floors.

We waited for about 30mins until our number was called. It turned out that Amber’s healthcard had problems on their system and they asked the Hubby to call his company's HR to double check. My Hubby has a temper but it was surprising that he managed to be calm when he spoke to their HR personnel. It must be the long walk upstairs or maganda siguro ang gising, if it wasn’t, malamang may nag-katipunero na dun!

Sabi ko, Amber and I would just go to the clinic while he waits for the feedback from his company.

When we went back to the clinic, that was already around 12:45PM. My goolay! Doc pala just came in at 2nd name pa lang daw yung tinawag. Haaay, aabutin kami ng syam-syam! I was really hungry by then.

To make the already long story short, ayun natapos kami ng 3PM. The consultation lasted for only about 10 minutes and we waited forever for that! I told the Hubby that I am going to look for other pediatrician na malapit lang sa amin. Doc naman is okay, kaso she only holds clinic at St. Luke’s tapos super mega dami nyang patients!

What did the Doc do and say during the consultation...

Doc did the basics. Then confirmed our suspicions that Amber is small for her age. Although Doc told us that at the age of 2, she is still within the normal limits but she is already turning 3 in 3 months, so medyo she is short and on the lean side. Okay lang naman yun if she was born a small baby, eh kaso she was 7.3lbs and 50cm when she was born. Ang bilog-bilog nya noon!

She was very quick to gain weight until she reached 1 year old. After that, naging slow na yung weight gain nya. She only gained 1 kg and grew 2 inches in 2 years!

Tapos sobrang ang hirap nyang pakainin.

I am so worried.

Doc told us to change her vitamins and give her Pediasure for the next 2 months and see if her weight will improve.

I'm praying that it will. L

A Not So Nice Traffic-Heavy Monday

Sabi nga, there’s no place like home. Even if I wanted so much to go out of my country and visit faraway places, I will always look forward to coming back. This is my comfort zone. There’s no place in the world I know better and I would be more comfortable in than the Philippines!

Good thing I have a flexible time, di ako mama-mark ng late. Pero kahit na! Isn’t the 2 hour drive to the office enough?!? Ngayon, kelangan pang abutin ng 3-4 hours?!?!

This morning, we passed by 5 road construction sites na hindi ko na babanggitin kung saan-saan kasi hindi naman ito public service. Ito ay isang paghahayag lang ng saloobin.

And those constructions held us for a freaking 2 hours in a distance we usually cover in 15 minutes!

Andun na ko, a little inconvenience will result to a better Philippines. Haaay!

This and other things,... I seriously want to consider migrating!

Holiday Appetite

"You have to admit. You ate like a pig this holiday season. A big fat starving pig! You wolfed down just about anything that was served on the table."

Who can resist food during those times anyways? They’re just everywhere! And it was a season to be merry and a merry season wouldn’t be complete without lots of good food, isn’t it?

"But hey, holidays are over! Then why are you still on a holiday appetite?"

Argh!

"You braved the scales this morning and it was disheartening... You gained! Really gained weight!!! At nagtaka ka pa talaga?!?"

"So today, you didn’t eat...much. And you successfully refused to eat in-between meals, too. You are constantly reminding yourself that the holidays are over."

"So as the food! Get a hold of yourself. You have to attend to several reunions this coming months and you don't want to look bigger than you already are now."

-An open letter to Bunay from Kunsensha.
