Flu-free! :)

Had our flu shots last Saturday...
And although I’d like to think that I am not bothered by the sore muscles, I actually am! Makes me think, ganito na ba talaga ang nagkaka-edad? I used to not feel anything after my past flu shots. But this time, argh! The muscle pain is killing me! And my arm is still sore. Nevertheless, we are free from flu for the rest of the year!

Took advantage of the affordable flu-vaccines that Tita Kate’s company offered... so kahit sore ang arm, all smiles pa din because of the big savings!
Bye-bye flu!

Bedtime Chat II

Didn’t know that the States of Matter are already being taught to Kinder pupils.

Just last night at bedtime...

Amber: Mommy, if I’m hungry, I will not ask for dede. But if I’m thirsty, I like dede. Kasi milk is liquid.

Eh di shempre, that statement caught my attention. Umpisa na ng interrogation!

Mommy: Why did you say that milk is liquid?
Amber: Kasi it’s in a bottle.
Mommy: How about solid? Do you know what solid is?
Amber: Opo. Yun yung may corners...

Hmmm, pwede na! I-push pa natin...

Mommy: For example, rice! Is rice liquid or solid?
Amber: Solid!
Mommy: Very good! How about gas? Do you know what gas is?
Amber: Opo! It is for filling the car in the gasolation!

Tumpak! Di na ko nakakibo.

Btw, GASOLATION = GAS STATION. Amberspeak.

It’s Gary!

Because it has been raining recently, we found some visitors in our front yard! We thought of showing it to Amber since she hasn’t seen real ones yet.

Daddy referred to them as ‘Gary’ when she called Amber. With a confused look, she went with us to see who Gary was.

Amber: Oh! It’s a snail! And there are so many of them! So many Garies!

The little girl was so amused with the crawling slimy creatures until she dropped the next question.

Amber: Hey! Where’s Spongebob? Mommy, let’s look for Spongebob!

Daddy was quick to get the sponge from the kitchen and showed it to her.

Amber: Ugh!

She rolled her eyes, turned away from her Dad and went back to what she was doing earlier. Hahaha! Remembering how she reacted to her Dad still makes me laugh. Sorry Daddy, she isn’t taking any non-sense from you anymore. :p

Cuteness Runs In The Family :p

Saw this on a niece’s FB page. :)

Caption reads:

I couldn’t agree more! ^_^

It’s A Good Day After All!

Just when I resolved that I am doomed this day, because the day just didn't seem to start right... something good happens! Thus, the big smile on my face! Sa wakas!!!

But before anybody makes any presumptions... No, I’m not what you think I am. Though I hope I will be soon! <wink>

I haven’t really talked about our relocation stint that happened nearly 2 months ago but yes, we did it! We already moved to the southern part of the Metro last May.

Shorter commute... longer sleep... more time at home... more play time with my little sweetheart... the benefits and more!

But! Of course, there’s always a ‘but’!

We haven’t finalized the deeds of sale because of some technical thingy on the title. The owner, who is a very close relative to the Hubby, is already having difficulties going to and from the Registry of Deeds (she is already a senior citizen by the way), asked us if we could be kind enough to settle the matter ourselves and she’ll just provide us with whatever documents we will need.

Guess who the family appointed as the Official Liaison Officer???

Tumpak!

And as if I can say no. ;\

So to make the looooong story short, after several visits, coupled with heartaches, to the RD, they finally approved, after of course the submission of the required documents and payment of corresponding fees.

The people in RD didn’t really have anything to do with why it took this long. It was actually the developer.

Oh well, everything is okay now. After 10 days, they will be releasing the title to us... minus the restrictions! I feel so accomplished. Sigh! ^_^

For all the lot owners out there... the restriction under Section 39 of the Land Registration Act that the property cannot be sold within 5 years from the date of registration, cannot be assumed cancelled even if your title was registered in the 70’s. YOU still need to have this annotation ACTUALLY cancelled by the Registry of Deeds. Just so you know. :)

Bedtime Chat

Mommy: Amber, do you raise your hand when teacher-sister asks a question in class?
Amber: Opo!

Mommy: Talaga?
Amber: Opo!

Mommy: Has she ever called you to answer?
Amber: Opo!

Mommy: Sige nga, sample ng question and answer ninyo ni teacher-sister.
Amber: Yung answer ko when I raised my hand?

Mommy: Yes, what was your answer?
Amber: I said, PRESENT!

Episode ba ito ng ISKUL BUKOL?!? ;\

Someone Got Her Birthday Wish!

Days before her birthday...

Daddy: What do you want to get on your birthday?
Amber: Uhmmm, a medium bike?
Daddy: Bakit medium?
Amber: Kasi my old bike is small. Yours is too big. So I want a medium bike!

Wish granted!

At least she will get to learn how to ride a bike. I, on the other hand, am really a lost cause. ;/

A Letter For Amber On Her 5th Birthday

My dearest Amber,

Today, you turn 5 years old and I feel so giddy about it. ^_^

You can read now. And you love reading! You read every word you see around you and often ask me what it is about. I guess it will just be a matter of time before you finally get to read Mommy’s blogs about you. I’m so looking forward to that and know what your thoughts are about everything that Mommy writes!

Oh! We still need to get pass your picky-eating stage. Argh! How I wish to see you eat with gusto. I’m beginning to be bothered by your skinny arms and legs. People, who I know care, told me that I shouldn’t worry too much as long as you are active and do not get sick too often. Well, not only that you are very active, you are so TALKATIVE, too, if I may add!

Yup, you are getting more and more talkative. Not a day goes by that you do not fill the house with your random songs, monologues and blabbers.

I talked to your teacher, Sister Henrietta this morning, and she said that you are very quiet in class. She was surprised when I told her how you are at home.

I still wonder why you seem to fold up everytime you are surrounded with people you don’t know very well yet. The chatty you just hides there somewhere and it takes a long time for you to warm up to someone.

In your previous school, it took you a semester to open up and mingle with your classmates. The same happens with your cousins when you see them again after a long while.

Please know that it’s okay for you to always have new acquaintances and new friends all the time. It is okay to say hi and smile back to people and children you just met [as long as they are not suspiciously creepy-looking strangers]. That’s the first step to friendship after all. ;)

Sadly, we already came to the point where we have disagreements. A lot! But I cherish the moments when we kiss and make-up. You always find ways to tell me that you’re sorry even without having to say that you are.

Just very recently, when I decided not to talk to you because you have once again tested my limits, I could feel how you have been glancing at me but I had to hold my ground. When we went to church and I was following you and Daddy while you walk hand in hand. You suddenly stopped, let go of Daddy’s hand and ran to me, took my hand and led me to the pew. So sweet. That simple gesture made my heart melt. I already understood.

But I just hope that we don’t have to argue at all. And if it really can’t be helped, that there will be something we both can learn from in our every disagreement.

And I promise to keep in mind that you’re only 5 years old, not 16. :)

I love you, forever and ever! :)

Love,
Mommy

P.S.: Please try to eat some more, okay? :)

Amber’s Vocabulary

Here are some of my favorites from Amber’s growing vocabulary...

Gasolation.
Amber: Daddy, wala na gas yung car, we need to go to the GASOLATION! [gas.station]

Belcony
Amber: Mom, bakit wala tayong BELCONY?
Bunay: Anong BELCONY?
Amber: BEL-CO-NY! That’s a place in the house where you can see people outside.
Aaahhh... balcony!

Dekember.
Amber: It’s DEKEMBER, not DESEMBER! Kasi it’s spelled as d-e-C-e-m-b-e-r! C is for kuh-, kuh-, like car. So it’s DEKEMBER!

Grudge.
Amber: Daddy is in the GRUDGE.
Bunay: Where?
Amber: In the GRUDGE... when you walk out of the door, you will be in the GRUDGE. [garage]

Enimol.
Amber shows one of her LPS toys to me and says, “Mommy, what ENIMOL is this?!” [animal]

Skeleteen.
Amber: Inside our body is a SKELETEEN. [skeleton]

Nakaka.lo.ka!

Summer 2014

The Hubby asked me if I wanted to go to their company outing.

Being a Mom, I first have to consider a lot of things before I let my kid go out under that scorching hot sun. Well, scratch that! I just am not, and will never be, a beach person because I can’t swim. I’d rather stay someplace cold than be under the sun in a beach.

But then, I also remembered how the little girl enjoyed our little summer outing last year.

So never mind that Mommy has very little affection to beach and summer, the little girl likes it. So off to the beach, we go!

Who said I’m the only one afraid of the sun? The father-and-daughter tandem wore long-sleeved rash guards despite that they almost emptied our supply of sun block lotion.

I did not swim. For reasons you already know. TEEHEE! I just enjoyed the scenic view... and the camera! Of course!

It was a tiring day because the travel time to and from the resort took us a total of 7 hours. But the look on all the children’s faces that day is just worth the long travel hours.

Until next year! :)

New and Not-So-New Things

Not-so-new year, new neighborhood,
not-so-new house and new school for the little miss...

...who is wearing that cute little new dress [uniform].

Homecoming!

I’m back! ^_^

And it feels so great to be back in this little corner of mine, my home in the World Wide Web!

The long hiatus is over, unless I’ve been taken and held against my will. So if you don’t hear from me for a couple of months, please feel free to report that I’m missing. ;)

For those who left me comments and messages... I’m so sorry for not being able to reply.

I have a lot of cleaning and catching up to do here. It’s been a looooong 11 months! Wait!!! Are those cobwebs on the corner of my page?!?! Tsk!
