Butterscotch On A Microwave!

What a busy Monday it is!

Pero ang dami ko gustong ikwento kaya I’ll make time to insert some blogging time in my very busy world. Harhar!

At last! After several weeks of hunting for the Maya Butterscotch Brownie Mix, I’m so excited to share my version of Em’s easy Butterscotch recipe! Click on the link to Em’s blog for the recipe.

I couldn't find a square microwavable pan, so I used a 9” round ramekin instead. My brownie looked like a cookie after it has been baked.

Instead of adding in peanuts, I put whole roasted cashew nuts to top my Butterscotch Brownie. Next time, I’ll put more whole cashew nuts. It added a nice flavor to the mixture.

So quick and easy! After exactly 6 minutes, it’s all done! Moist and chewy.

I’ll definitely do it again. But I’ll divide the mixture in 2 portions so the edges will not turn out ‘cakey’ and maintain its fudgy texture all around.
Doesn't that look like a giant cookie? LOL!

Nevertheless, it’s yum-yum! Thumbs up, Em! Thank you for the recipe. ^_^

Bilog Ba Ang Buwan?

I don’t know what’s wrong with Amber, pero lately parang laging bilog ang buwan nya. L

Dati naman madali shang kausap. If we tell her it’s time to change her diaper, she would immediately lie down and wait. Pag may poop sha, she’d tell us and go to the bathroom to have us wash her. Pag iinom ng vitamins, we’ll just tell her then she’ll oblige agad. Pag bibihisan sha, she’ll stay still. Everything is so easy with her.

She won’t let any of us touch her when she has poop. Pahirapan painumin ng vitamins. Ayaw nya magpabihis kahit andungis-dungis na. Good thing she is still so willing to take a bath. Kaso after nun, ayaw nya magpasuot ng damit. L

I have asked her what’s wrong and what has been bothering her. Pero she wouldn’t respond naman.

I am starting to feel desperate. I don’t intend to pero I’ve been in the brink of losing my patience lately.

I have tried everything. Talked to her, plead, begged. There was one time I even used a growling voice. Pero all of those, no use.

Then last night, ganun na naman sha, she wouldn’t listen to us. She does whatever things we tell her NOT-TO-DO.

*TING!*

The Hubby’s light bulb lit!

He told her not to eat... biglang kumain.

He told her not to change diaper... she lay down and let me change her diaper without struggling.

He told her not to wipe her sipon (may sipon sha but it cannot be the reason because she’s been behaving this way even before the colds)... she immediately took her wash cloth and wiped the sipon.

Did I miss out on anything here?!? Rebellion ba ito? Aga naman ata?!?

Is reverse-psychology really a chapter in parenting?

Amber's Milk Formula

After our Pedia visit last weekend, we immediately bought the new vitamins and Pediasure that the Doc prescribed and recommended.

We have given Amber Pediasure before so I didn’t think that it would be a trouble giving it to her now. Big mistake! As soon as she tasted it, she asked to change her dede.

So I mixed it with her milk. I meticulously analyzed the portions and made sure that each scoop would be combined with its proper water equivalent.

I came up with 3 scoops of Gain Plus and 2 scoops of Pediasure in 8.5 oz of water. Oh di ba, chemistry kung chemistry!

Ask if it worked.

It didn’t.

She would always hand it back. Ang ending, she asked for water na lang and drank water the whole night.

The next day, everybody who was left with her in the household gave in and made her drink Gain Plus only.

Eh di lalo kaming mahihirapan nito! Tsk-tsk!

When I got home that night, I adjusted the proportions.

3 scoops of Gain Plus and 1 scoop of Pediasure in 7.5 oz of water.

I gave instruction to Ate Marissa to put it inside the ref if she doesn’t want to drink yet. Kesa itapon, sayang di ba?

When we were about to sleep, I took the bottle out from the ref and waited until when Amber would ask for her dede.

When she did ask for her milk, I gave her the formula that I painstakingly computed the mixture. Hehe!

She took and drank it. I was already smiling. Then she handed it back to me. My smile disappeared.

Then she said, “CLOWD!”.

Hahahaha! Oo nga naman. Not that she didn’t like it but it was cold kasi galing nga sa ref di ba?

I put the bottle in a bowl with lukewarm water and waited until it’s not cold enough for her to drink. And voila! It was a success (fingers crossed). As soon as she is fully adjusted to the taste, I’ll be increasing the dose of Pediasure until maging puro Pediasure na sha.

Hay! I hope it will do her wonders like it did the last time she lost weight din. L

Yummy Instant Curry Noodles

I love curry! Chicken Curry has been one of my favorite viands. Imagine its thick creamy sauce over a steaming cup of white rice... Argh, the thought alone makes my tummy growl!

I brought home this Seafood Curry Instant Noodles from HK and it smelled and tasted great!

It's gone in less than 5 minutes! I wish I brought more than just a cup. L

The Versatile Push Cart

Amber has joined the long list of cute kids who find comfort in a shopping cart. ^_^

Oo na, it was my fault that I didn’t remind him to.

Eh kasi saglit lang naman kami dapat.

Amber turned to me and said, “Mommy, dede please”. When I handed her the bottle, she added, “higa”. Ay mega-panic ako! Wala si stroller! Sabi ko kay Daddy kargahin na lang nya while he pushes the cart. Hehe, slave lang ang drama.

He thought of arranging the grocery bags and let Amber sit there. The little girl didn’t object naman so all is well!

Now, I’m having a higher respect for push carts. Versatility to the highest! LOL! Bakit hindi, eh it saved the Hubby from back pains.
