Hanging Out With The Band

Feeling ni Hubby, sha ang bagong vocalist ng Parokya ni Edgar since Chito M. isn’t around that time. Belong na belong! LOL!

Araw... Arrow...???

Last night, Amber bugged me about wanting an ‘araw’. San ako hahanap ng araw, eh gabi na!

Then she kept saying ‘araw’ until it became ‘arrow’.

Naman, I have never introduced her to archery no, at wala kaming arrows sa bahay.

She added that it’s black and yum-yum. Lalong nagulo ang buhay ko!

Bago madagdagan ang wrinkles ko, I asked her to help Mommy get what she wants, then she came back with this...

Asus! Kelan naging ARAW at ARROW ang OREO?!?!  Ate Nora?!?!

The “WHY” Phase

I didn’t know that I’d face this stage this early. I was preparing myself for it when the day comes but it came unexpectedly last night when we were already on bed.

(Forgive my uncreative responses. I was so beat this time of the evening)

Amber: What’s that sound??!
Mommy: Motorcycle.
Amber: Bat may motorcycle?
Mommy: Kasi dun nakasakay yung ibang tao.

Pause...

Amber: Bakit sila dun nakasakay?

At this point, I already knew that it will be a loooong night! ^_^

Mental note: Think of a more imaginative response to make the conversation more interesting for Amber’s series of 'WHY' questions.

Dear Self...

Always look at the brighter side... always look forward to new opportunities in every challenge that would come to you and your family’s way... never lose sight of that bright light at the end of the tunnel... smile lang ng smile!

The Makahiya Plant... Bow!

Nowadays, it seemed impossible to find a Makahiya plant around. The Hubby didn’t let that chance of seeing one pass to show Amber how cool the Makahiya plant is!

Amber was amazed with the plant as its leaves fold up!

Kaya lang instead of touching the leaves as what her Daddy did, she blows on them. She was afraid that her fingers will be caught up as the leaves fold. But she did a pretty good job shaming every Makahiya leaves she laid eyes on - never leaving any untouched (or 'un-blown'). Hehe!

Meet LIAN!

I still have to get used to hearing people call my daughter LIAN.

LIAN is Amber’s first name.

In school, she has to be Lian because she has a classmate whose name is also Amber. Just Amber. So since our Amber has another name, the teachers decided to call her by her first name to avoid confusion between the two Ambers.

I’m surprised that our Amber adjusted really well to her new name. She now wants to be called Lian or Lian Amber. And always says that Amber is the other girl in school.

Okay fine. ^_^

A Belated Happy Father’s Day Greeting

I admit to being lazy these past few days. And I’ve been reprimanding myself for that. Now I have to antedate my entries. Yeah, I know that it’s wrong. Forgive, forgive... ^_^

Nevertheless, no matter how late... Happy Father’s Day to all Daddies out there, especially to the father of my daughter, who I love so much!

Look at what Amber brought home from school...
It’s a card with a blue necktie pattern.
Ate Nora said that Amber cut and glued the necktie to the card

She scribbled yellow and blue crayons all around.

Teacher Abby guided her little hands in
writing the message inside.

When we were inside the house, there was a loud little voice that said, “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DADDY!!!”.

So sweet. Teka, bakit nga ba kasi hindi school month ang Mother’s Day?!?! ;-/

Amber’s 3rd Birthday Celebration

This time, we thought of celebrating Amber’s birthday with kids around. Not really a party since both her parents are party-throwing-phobics, doing it in her school has been a great idea!

Nakakatuwa kasi her teachers are very cooperative. I was even surprised to see a banner put up for her.

I never thought of making her a banner because all I planned was that I’ll just bring them snacks on their break time and yun na. It wasn’t intended to be a real party but the kids looked like they had a party. Some of her classmates even brought her gifts!

Nahiya pa ko sa teachers kasi parang isang malaking distraction ako sa session nila on that day. Hehe! The kids kept going out of the classroom to see what was being set up outside. Ang ingay ko ata! They ran out of their room and towards me when they saw the party hats. They were only 5 in toddler class pero para silang isang barangay! Nakakalokang ang saya!

What I prepared for them were only spaghetti, clubhouse sandwich and hotdog on stick pero the look on the kids’ faces were priceless! Tuwang-tuwa sila, especially when I lit the candles on Amber’s cake and they all sang Happy Birthday!

Here are some pictures from that day...

Meet Amber's classmates (L-R): Jessica, Isaiah, Charise and (the other) Amber.

When I asked Amber if she was happy, she replied with "Very happy, Mommy!".

Aww,... I'm glad that she had fun! ^_^

A letter for Amber on her 3rd Birthday

@}-'---

My dearest Amber,

Today is your 3rd birthday and this year, we have reached another milestone – you have started going to toddler school! Some would raise their eyebrows at us and think that it’s too early since you are still very much a baby but seeing you enjoying school this morning, I knew that you are more than ready to explore new things and meet new friends.

I’m glad that you handled being left alone in the school room well. You even waved goodbye to Ate Nora as she leaves. Ate said she can hear your voice as you participate in every activities that your teacher gives you. You were the youngest and smallest in your class but you were the most attentive and active. I’m so proud of you, anak.

I feel relieved that you knew well your ABCs and 123s from home and that you recited them perfectly at school. Do you know that you can already count up until 50? But when we played counting 123 at home, you do not want to go beyond 10 because that’s how you have been counting so far at school. You are so obedient to your teacher. I like that you are but please count until 50 with Mommy? I’ll miss counting with you.

You now choose the clothes you wear. There was a time when your teachers told you that your dress is nice,... you never took it off the entire day. Same thing happened when you were forced to wear something you find ‘pangit’. You immediately took it off as soon as got home. When someone told you that that dress is nice, you replied, “Nice ba? Kala ko pangit”, you are so cute! Your fashion sense came in quite early. LOL!

You love to play with other kids. You are the last child to leave school because you still want to play with each remaining classmate. And only leave as soon as the last of them bids farewell.

I thought you would be motivated into eating more if you are surrounded with a group of enthusiastically eating toddlers but I was once again wrong. You just observe your classmates as they enjoy their food leaving your own food untouched. When your teacher saw you not eating, she thought of asking you to share your food, hoping you would get to eat some, too. But you only showed interest in sharing... not eating. Ugh! I really wish you eat more so you won’t miss the nutrients that you should be getting from your food.

Your teachers commended you for your good manners, never forgetting to say ‘please’ when you ask someone for favor.

There’s nothing wrong if your coloring is not perfect. Teacher said you don’t want to color anymore because once the color gets out of line, you will smirk and would not continue anymore because you’ll call your work ‘pangit’. Practice makes perfect, anak! Always remember that. Don’t be discouraged if you commit mistakes the first time. You’ll do better on your next try. Just keep on trying. Never give up. ;-)

I’m sorry if I always warn you that I’m going to throw away your things if you don’t take care of them. I never want to do that to your things but I hope someday, you see the good that it will do to you. That you will learn how to value your belongings and really take care of them.

You look so grown up already. I love that we are able to converse now. Though you oftentimes dominate our conversation by talking animatedly that I just couldn’t have the chance to cut in my response. But it will always be okay with me because the sound of your voice is enough to make a happy mommy out of me. I hope you will never get tired of talking to Mommy. Remember that you can always tell Mommy anything and everything!

Happy 3rd birthday, my dear dear Amber. Mommy and Daddy love you so much! And every day, we thank God for you.

My School Girl

I’m happy to announce that I am now a mommy to a school girl! Yeap, we have enrolled Amber to the nearby toddler school and she is having a great time despite being the youngest and smallest in her class.

Sadly, I didn’t make it to her first day. I had to go to work. L

Buti na lang Ate Nora was there to send her to school. I think I haven’t mentioned Ate Nora in my previous blogs yet. Well, she is Amber’s newest Yaya. I’ll talk about more of here soon, I just have to take a picture of them together. After 5 weeks of being with us, she went back to her hometown Camarines to assist her children on their enrollment. And boy I'm glad that she came back exactly when she said she would.

The Hubby was a little emotional as we go to work on Amber’s first day in school. Sabi nya, kawawa naman daw yung anak nya because her first memory of school is with a yaya. I know he wanted to be there for her little girl. I felt really guilty, too. But we just couldn’t take a break from work. I told myself that I’ll make it up with her talaga on her birthday. J

I filed for leave on her birthday. Sad thing, Daddy will be in Boracay for an official business that day. So it’s important that I make double efforts to make the little girl’s birthday special.

I plan to bring foods to share with her classmates at school on her birthday. That way, she can celebrate around kids her age. I hope she’ll have fun. Crossing my fingers!

Feeling Stranger To My Own Blog :(

I am back to my lulubog-lilitaw status. Now, I'm here, tomorrow, I'm not, hehe!

It’s been a busy time. So busy that I’ve finished the 50 Shades Trilogy. Hehehe! Yup, that’s what’s been keeping me occupied. Well, it’s really ‘stimulating’,... err, I mean entertaining.

I had to set aside Game of Thrones for Grey, but I’m definitely coming back to the Song of Ice and Fire series as soon as I’m done with the Greys. But I heard Divergent is also a must-read.

But one thing’s for sure, I’m back! I feel guilty for not being able to keep in touch with my blogger friends, I’m itching to leave comments on their blogs to let them know that I’m back. Hehe! Papansin lang. But I have to catch up on my blog reading. See you ‘round! Oh, what was that signature Grey line... Laters, baby! J
